About the Instructors:

Sharri Rocca:
Sharri began her dance training in Clinton , Iowa at the age of four. She studied tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, tumbling and gymnastics for many years. She often student taught for her teacher, Maxine Wagner., who belonged to Dance Masters of America. Sharri was also a cheerleader for six years with her squad attending pom pom, cheerleading, dance team camps and competitions. She choreographed much of the squad’s dances for performances and competitions. Sharri attended the University of Iowa and earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology. While there, she took two years of modern dance. Later, she opened Sharri’s School of Dance in Westfield , Wisconsin and ran it successfully for three years until her move to Waseca. Sharri  Rocca is a member of N.A.D.A.A. (National Association of Dance and Affiliated Artists) Wisconsin Chapter and served as a Vice President during 1995.  Sharri attends workshops such as N.A.D.A.A. and Dance Olympus throughout the year to keep up on the latest trends in dance. Sharri serves as the choreographer and has her students perform in the Miss Waseca County Scholarship Pageant. She frequently teaches dance through different organizations in the community. Sharri is also the varsity and junior varsity cheerleading coach at Waseca High School . Sharri started Sharri’s School of Dance in Waseca in 1996.

Jayne Harvey:
Jayne began her dance training at the age of seven at the Donna Brum School of Dance in Lansing , Illinois . She studied tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, and tumbling, and after many years of training, had the privilege of becoming Donna’s teaching assistant at the age of sixteen. She taught for nine years for Donna until her move in 1985. In high school, Jayne was captain of her pom pom squad and choreographed award winning routines for their performances and competitions. She also choreographed for her high school choir. After high school, Jayne taught dance for Lansing Park District and Highland Park District. Jayne spent her summers training with such teachers as Gus Giordano, Joe Tremaine, and Roni Mahler. Jayne also choreographs for the Waseca High School Choirs. Jayne has been with Sharri’s School of Dance since 1997.

Rachel Beckman:
Rachel began her dance training at age 4. She has studied tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical and hip hop at Sharri’s School of Dance . She has been an assistant at the studio for 6 years and has been in the highest level classes  for many years. Rachel has taught many classes on her own and has experience in choreography. Rachel attends N.A.D.A.A. workshops during the year to keep current with her dance training. Sharri and Jayne are very excited to add Rachel to their teaching staff
